    Back from MIA

Well Ladies and Gents I am back. I have been going through a really rough time lately. I seperated from my husband because of problems we just couldn't work through while together. I am currently living at my moms house with dial-up (sob) and so I will be updating just not quite as often.

In knitting news, I made the book sweater on www.oknitting.com in a beautiful blue simply soft. I also have started the Isabeau ( www.chezplum.com ) handbag in lilac simply soft. I made the purse (the tiny one) in sugar n cream in a spring color ombre (i dont remember the actual color name but it had yellow, green, blue and white). Clapotis is still going but slowly. And I am on letter D still on my ABC blanket for the boys.

I hope this finds you all well and I will update again very soon.

    Finished Pocketbook Slippers

Pocketbook Slippers are complete. I used Caron Simply Soft in the Limelight colorway and it took way less than one skein.

My seaming needs serious work that's why the tops look all pointy. These slippers are comfortable though and a slight bit motivating. Makes me knit a little faster when I look down and see a finished project.

I have learned Knitting ADD doesn't work for me. I have to work on one project at a time or I get overwhelmed. Now that these are done I'm finishing the panta and then Clapotis. The panta I am in the middle of section 4. I hope to be done with it by Tuesday. I hope everyone is doing good.

In non-knitting news my birthday is in 1 month and 22 days and party planning has begun. I'm not exactly sure what we're going to do but I know I want to go out. Any ideas?

The One Where I Really Explain My Knitting Level...and I babble.

Well last week was Mother's day and mine was a little less than nice. The power went out for 8 hours, my husband was sick. It was a mess. So we're going out on Saturday. Chris is taking me to Chili's to eat and to see The Da Vinci Code (everyone must go see this movie! The book was amazing!). But the highlight of our outting is that we're going to Yarns 2 Ewe the local yarn shop in Houston. I've never been because I never have knitted with anything other than red heart or simply soft. (Well I take that back...I got one skein of Patons Allure from a friend and one skein of Fun Fur for a hat but that's it.) We can't afford much but I do plan on getting at least one or two skeins of something nice. I was thinking Rowan Kidsilk Haze and making Branching Out from Knitty or the Airy Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I don't know. I really would like to knit some type of garmet for myself. I was going to knit Lelah but the math was way beyond that which my head could do. I'm thinking about getting the new Big Girl Knits book and trying out a pattern from there. There's a KAL going on on Craftster for Bombshell so maybe I'll start there. I'm babbling now. What is your favorite yarn to work with?

I have been so out of it lately. I try to knit and I get messed up on the simplest patterns. Tonight I'm going to have to frog and re-start BOTH the panta and the Elizabethtown hat because I messed up royally on them. (you'd think k2, p2 would be simple). I thought I had messed up on Clapotis but luckily all is well with it. If I had had to frog that I would not be a happy camper.

I'm starting to branch out a lot with my knitting. I used to call myself just a beginner because it was safe but now I've realize things I was once scared of just aren't that bad. Cables for instance. If I actually sit down and read the directions they aren't hard at all! Colorwork however is a whole other story. I can not figure it out. No Fair Isle, No Intarsia. Unless it's stripes where I cut the yarn and tie the new one on...I'm lost. I have tons of knitting books that explain it (Stitch N Bitch..both, Knitting School, all kinds) but have I sat down and tried to read them? Nope. I should though. I'm babbling again. I hope you guys are doing good. Until tomorrow. Tata.

    Again

I tried to finish my last post but for some reason it wasn't letting me add anymore pics.

This is the start of the Elizabethtown Pithy hat. I was originally drawn to do it in Black but since I was afraid I would need it for the Clapotis I started looking through my stash. I have about 4 balls of this Berry Blue in my stash and so I decided to use it as it's a nice soothing color. Then as I was sitting on my floor knitting I noticed something....

It matches my toenails. I need to touch them up but I thought it was really neat and kinda goofy hehe.

This is the beginning of a Panta (pattern from www.craftster.org). The yarn is Red Heart acrylic in colorway Monet. This ball of yarn was probably the 2nd or 3rd yarn I ever purchased. I originally bought it for a tote type bag but decided against it. Now it's been sitting in my stash eyeing me until I realized that the project I would use this yarn for needed to be displayed proudly. So it's becoming a panta that everyone can ooo and ahhh over.

    Hello Sunshine!

Hey all! Well I've been promising pictures for a while now and tonight I finally got to upload them! So here they are in all their glory:
these are my current works in progress. The black is Clapotis, the green is the first of the pocketbook slippers, the blue is the Elizabethtown hat, and then multi-colored yarn is a panta.

Here is my Clapotis so far. This is on the second round of straight rows. I get so bored with it but then I come to a drop stitch and it's a rush just watching it tumble down. Hehe

This is #1 of a pair of pocketbook slippers. I've never had to do ribbing and so 6 inches of 2x2 ribbing is a little boring to me but I refuse to give up.

    Mother's Day

Mother's Day is tomorrow and I have a lot planned...a whole lot of nothing! My husband has already been warned that the only time I'm leaving my room is to maybe go potty and maybe eat....but the rest of the time...I'm watching movies and knitting. So Monday...I *should* have some work done. I plan on finishing my pocketbook slippers, at least working on Clapotis if not finishing it, and starting on Lelah in a turqoise yarn for the bottom (Blue Mint Simply Soft) and lavender for the top (again Simply Soft but I forgot the color name). Needless to say it will be a big knitting day! On the playlist I have the Harry Potter movies, Garden State, 13 Going on 30, and Elizabethtown. If you guys have any movies that are really good to watch while knitting let me know! I'll go pick it up!

My camera went to Vegas without me...

Yes you read that right. My MIL and FIL went to Vegas and took my camera but they left me here :( . So we will have to wait for pictures of my knitted progresses. I am casting on for my VERY FIRST pair of socks today! I'm using some annoymous sport weight yarn I had in my stash and size 5 dpns. I'm using this tutorial http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Beginning.htm

I can't wait! So how has everyone been? Good I hope!

And just how is everyone doing today? I'm in a great mood! For a while we had DirecTV but with no locals and I was getting so jealous of all the people watching all the good shows (not to mention bored on American Idol nights because no one was online to chat with!!). Last night however, we got local channels turned on!!! Just in time to catch American Idol and WOW I did NOT know what I was missing! Chris and Taylor were so wonderful last night!

The only bad thing I see about having the local channels turned on is that I CAN'T STOP WATCHING! This could proove productive in my knitting though. What does everyone like to watch on TV. I need some new shows.

I am still semi-working on Clapotis (another good thing about the TV...I will be KNITTING without searching for something else I want to knit RIGHT NOW! so I can actually finish something (imagine that!) ) . I am supposed to be knitting slippers but have yet to finish one slipper (almost!). I do plan on finishing it and starting the other tonight while watching AI.

I'm trying to also learn to knit cables to I can make my mom a coin purse or eye glass holder with beautiful cables. It's not going so well.

Well I believe that's all for me today. I shall update more tomorrow! Until then,
